I’m Lauren Soltis and I will be focusing my blog posts on the globalization of social media. Globalization has created the effect of widespread communication across the globe. Social media has been an important tool in connecting people around the world. The effects of social media’s global reach have changed the way we communicate in today’s society. Hi, my name is Katy Flanagan and I am a sophomore communications major. I will be focusing on the connection between globalization and advertising. Advertising is so crucial and all around us. Mass media has made the world of advertising explode. Because ads can be seen in all kinds of mediums all over the world, I thought it would be interesting to see how globalization affects it. I will look at what globalization has done to advertising and the challenges companies face to make their name know around the world. I will look at how controversial topics are taken across the world as well. Along with that, I will look at two key examples who have mastered the art of taking their brands global.
